that's what i get
just when everything was making sense.you took away all my self-confidence.now all that i've been hearing must be
true.i guess i'm not the only boy for you
but that's what i get that's what i get
how could you turn us into this? after you just taught me how to kiss you.I told you i'd never say goodbye.now i'm
slipping on the tears you made me cry
but that's what i get that's what i get
why does it come as a surprise.to think that i was so naive.maybe didn't mean so much.but it meant everything to
me.
being cheated on ("i guess i'm not the only boy for you") and feeling like he deserved it. he's so deep into seeing himself
as a sinner that by now he can't just feel the pain of the girl's leaving, he has to turn it into something to emotionally
bludgeon himself with. berating himself for putting emotional stock in anything at all.

A very sad song about the confusion felt in having a broken heart ("just when everything was making sense.you took
away all my self confidence") when he finds out that he has been used ("i guess I'm not the only boy for you.") Perhaps
this was reference to a first sexual experience ("after you just taught me how to kiss you") which was non-meaningful to
the other person in the relationship ("maybe didn't mean so much.but it meant everything to me.") These are the words
of some one who was very loving only to discover that he was deceived ("why does it come as a surprise.to think that I
was so naive.") He berates himself at the end for his blind trust.
