trent on march of the pigs
trent on march of the pigs
interviewer: can you tell me who the pigs are?
trent reznor: uhh, it kind of depends which song you're talking about. but, it could be anywhere from...well, for
example in march of the pigs... i'm referring mainly to..anywhere from the media to people who i thought were friends
that are around me to the kind of.... the issue i think i was addressing was the feeling we got when in america when we
attain a certain level of success and it surprises us to see all the legions of people around you who start fucking with you
and um can't wait to see you fail, waiting for you to fuck up, ripping you off, trying to use you...the fact that american
media in the underground world, you're their darlings, to oops we accidentally start selling some records, and "we have
to turn our backs on you" because we're not cool anymore because people know about us now.
interviewer: right, is that "take the skin and peel it back/doesn't it make you feel better," is that what that line's
about?
trent reznor: right.
