photo1 - (shot of a rock, with some red stuff, and some black at the top)
- is before any lyrics, so it could be the author's life up to this point
- the black here is death, and the red is blood, meaning when his thoughts go wandering, they usually end up at dying,
and he's cut himself a few times on purpose, to try and forget his life.
photo2 - (the black stuff is gone, but there's a big blotch of red stuff in the
middle, and two feathers)
- he's cutting himself more (more red), after his realization that there isn't a god, and cuts because he wants to test
himself, to see how much he can stand (heresy, piggy)
- there is some black, in the middle of the red, which means he thinks of actually killing himself while slicing
- the feathers mean writing, as they were used as some of the first pens. he's writing about his ideas, in search of
acceptance.
photo3- (lots of feathers, pink and red droplets, and an underlying black)
- he's writing down all his plaranoia, because he can't trust anyone (ruiner)
- his writing is more refined than before (the thread finger-grips), but he's cutting himself more. blood isn't just oozing
out, it is actually dripping off him (the pink and red droplets, massive red stains in background)
photo4 - (deep black background, and red-stained rock bigger, but fewer
feathers)
- he is completely focused on his suffering, and suicide once again creeps into his mind, and now he can see it for what it
really is. he's scared of dying still, and writes to cover it.
- the blood pours from the cuts now, not just dripping, and he's writing to get past his rape, and he wishes that the girl
would get revenge, because he deserves it (big man with a gun, eraser)
photo5 - (huge swath of black, fewer feathers about the same amount of blood, and
what looks like a leg bone)
- his writings cannot cover that death is imminent
- the blood now is on the tip of a feather that is broken and burned. this is his last piece of writing, a suicide note. the
broken feather also represents the end of his dreams
photo6- (the blackness almost eclipses the rock. it's almost a river fed by the blood
on the banks draining into streams)
- he kills himself
-people don't remember his sufferning, his attempt at self-therapy, or his pleas for help, only his demise
- his death (black) is forever tinged with the blood (red) in other's minds
- due to his lack of faith in a god, he finds there is no "better place," only endless oblivion, and he regrets.
